======================================= JUNO-G System Program Update (Ver.1.06) ======================================= This JUNO-G System Program Update will update your JUNO-G's system program to the latest version. __ Changes _____________________________________________________________________ -------------------- [Ver.1.05->Ver.1.06] -------------------- - We fixed the problem that sometimes all notes will mute by pressing and releasing the hold pedal. __ Items required for updating the JUNO-G _________________________________________ - The JUNO-G itself - A 32MB--1GB memory card (CompactFlash) initialized by the JUNO-G - A computer with a card reader/writer that supports CompactFlash - The update file ("\ROLAND\JUNOGUPD.BIN") __ Checking the version __________________________________________________________ Check the version of your JUNO-G before you update. 1. Turn on the power. 2. Press EDIT [MENU] to open the Top Menu window. 3. Select g2. System,h and then press [ENTER]. The System Menu window appears. 4. Press [F6 (INFORMATION)]. The SYSTEM INFO screen appears. 5. Press [F3 (VERSION)]. The display will indicate the version. * If your JUNO-G already has the latest software version, you don't need to update. __ Cautions when updating (Important!) ___________________________________________ If the update is completed successfully, the contents of the JUNO-G's user memory will remain. However for safety's sake, we recommend that you perform a user backup (ownerfs manual, p.164) before you proceed with the update. Don't use this system program for any product other than the JUNO-G. Doing so may damage the data or system of your other product. Do not power-off the JUNO-G while the update is in progress. If the power should accidentally fail during the update, the JUNO-G system will be damaged, and the unit may become inoperable. We regret that we cannot answer questions regarding the procedure of installing this system program. You must perform the installation on your own responsibility, in accordance with the information provided in this document. __ Update procedure _____________________________________________________________ Use the following procedure to install system program into the JUNO-G. 1. Prepare your computer and card reader/writer for use, insert the CompactFlash card into the card reader/writer. 2. Download the system program updater. 3. Extract the system program updater; it will contain a "ROLAND" folder. 4. From the "ROLAND" folder, copy the "JUNOGUPD.BIN" file into the "ROLAND" folder on the CompactFlash card. 5. Remove the CompactFlash card from the card reader/writer as described below. [ Safely removing the memory card ] Windows users Using the Safely Remove Hardware button shown in the taskbar at the lower right of the your screen, stop the connection with the card reader/writer. Then remove the memory card from the card reader/writer. Macintosh users Drag the card reader/writer drive icon into the trash. Then remove the memory card from the card reader/writer. 6. Leave the JUNO-G powered-off. 7. Insert the memory card (prepared as described above) into the JUNO-G's card slot. 8. Power-on the JUNO-G, and the update will begin automatically. The update will require approximately 45 seconds. 9. The update is finished when the display indicates "- Completed." 10. Power-off the JUNO-G and remove the memory card. 11. Turn the power on again, and verify that the JUNO-G now has the most recent version. [ Caution ] If you want to use this memory card (with which you performed the update) with the JUNO-G for normal operation, you must be sure to delete the "JUNOGUPD.BIN" file that you copied. If you insert this card into the JUNO-G without deleting this file, the JUNO-G will be updated each time it is started up.
